The first organizational blog category I would address would be for prenatal mamas to be.  First time mothers typically have a fair amount of anxiety, questions, and may not be aware of the resources available for them.

I would create a category for local prenatal resources for such things as birthing classes, pelvic floor physical therapists, prenatal massage and breast feeding classes.

There would be a secondary resources and products category for such things as prenatal photographers, belly painters, belly casters and a category to discuss and link to products that prenatal mamas often find useful such as belly wrapping and SI belts.

There would be a category for discussing and offering breathing techniques and other common pregnancy challenges such as tips for addressing acid reflux.

By compiling local resources for the prenatal mamas, I would ask that the providers I write about in turn refer the prenatal mamas they work with to me for prenatal yoga needs.

My prenatal clients will be more likely to refer their girlfriends to me for their prenatal yoga needs if they feel they had a great experience during their time with me.
Since I also teach yoga to the non-pregnant population, establishing a trusted relationship during the prenatal stage will help me gain a long term client.  I find that 100% of my prenatal clients are often first time yogis; the established practitioners I work with typically stick with the classes they were attending pre-pregnancy for the duration of their pregnancy.

By publishing a blog consistently it will help me market my prenatal classes by turning up class information during key word searches when the mother to be starts using her search engine to find a local prenatal class.

  1. Laura. I like how you broke down your categories and can see how each one provides separate but useful information to your audience. Each categories seems to correlate with one another yet serve it's own purpose.
